The Sports Commissions Network

blank

The Visitors Bureaus Networkand the Sports Retail Groupestablished the Sports Commissions Networkto provide comprehensive services to cities, counties, parks and recreation departments, and other programs aiming to attract sports leagues and teams of all types. Whether amateur, collegiate, or professional, the Sports Commissions Networksupports local areas in hosting sports events that drive tourism, foster community engagement, and boost local economies. By offering tailored resources and expertise, the network helps these regions become premier destinations for sports activities, creating opportunities to showcase their unique offerings while strengthening their presence in the competitive world of sports tourism.

One of the core areas of focus for theSports Commissions Networkis helping to develop effective programming. The initial step in forming a sports promotional group involves compiling a comprehensive inventory of sports facilities and organizations within your community. Next, it is crucial to assess the availability of these facilities. Finally, determine whether a robust local volunteer base and an adequate pool of officials are available to support sporting events.
